:)

Below are some thoughts I’ve written over the last few years. Mostly pertaining to my dead boyfriend. Read them, share them, ignore them. They’re here for me.

Nicholas, in dining (out)

Talking about Nick is hard. Writing about him is even harder.

I stumbled across “Guest Collective” on Instagram in the way that one does — someone tagged someone tagged something. “Guest Collective” is an archive of public love-letters written to restaurants. I was instantly drawn to the idea of using physical spaces as a way to anchor this narrative and string together the indiscriminate thoughts that I’ve harbored. Over the last 3 years, I’ve experienced Nick's death and absence in a lot of ways. Some more painful than others.

Living in his city, I am constantly inhabiting spaces that Nick and I talked about visiting, visited, maybe even frequented. Sometimes it’s ok, sometimes it’s impossible. With this, I hope to put some of these *thoughts* out there.

*The below are short fragments initially published on my Instagram here to commemorate 3 years since Nick died.
